Ok I can't take it anymore.

I have been away for a while but the juices are flowing big time.
I watched a press conference the other day as our President said the following statement with regard to the extension of Unemployment benefits for the 6th time .
I have no problem with extending the benefits for people truly in need.
This economic downturn has been long and painful for many.
Regardless of your circumstance I do feel like many members of congress that we should fund the extension with cost savings or cuts from other areas.
On the large scale it is not much of an impact, but it is more spending, so it should be controlled.
Here was the comment or Justification the President used.
"Extending the unemployment benefits is actually good for the economy."
Our president actually said that.
"People will spend a little more or turn up there heat and therefor stimulate the economy."
Not sure that quote is exact, but it is pretty close.
This is the single most stupid thing I have ever heard a president say except "It depends on what the definition of IS IS."
If we had a President and or congress that believed in stimulating the economy with pro business  policies, we wouldn't need to extend benefits.
The problem is much more complex than that, but remember businesses employ and without pro growth policies we have no chance of improving our lot.
